Osteopathy for babies and children

Babies and children

The small amounts of movement that exist in the infant skull permit the baby's head to adapt to the forces of labour. When the birth is complicated by being unduly slow or fast, or when other complications occur such as the need for forceps or ventouse, the infant head may take time to recover from the distortion. Cranial osteopathic techniques are extremely gentle and non-manipulative and may help soothe and relax your baby. Many parents have seen the positive effects and some health visitors recommend it.

As young people grow up the body frame obviously undergoes an enormous number of changes. Osteopathic treatment can be very effective in helping the body to adjust to the demands made on it. By analysing , treating and managing problems associated with growth and the rough and tumble of growing up, we can make a major contribution to a fit healthy body in later life.
